Dr. Harriet Mowat

 

Mowat Research Ltd (MRL) was formed in 2002 by gerontologist Dr Harriet Mowat. Building on many years of research and practice in this field, Dr Mowat established the company to assist organisations in both the public and private sectors to respond to the increasing need to maximise the advantages of an ageing population. We specifically focus on matters related to wellbeing, spirituality and resilience. 

 

The company brings together a network of associates who contribute to different projects depending on their particular skills, expertise and the needs of the project. 

 

The main areas on which we focus on are:

 

Academic

We work with Universities and academic institutions as associates or partners, delivering  high quality research consultancy. This includes proposals, research management and research dissemination via reports, articles and presentations. We teach social research methods, particularly qualitative research methods and provide supervision from undergraduate dissertation to PhD.

Health and Social

We work with agencies providing health and social care for older people, providing training and development for managers and staff - particularly around areas of culture, change management and spiritual support and care.
